Mobile network operator Three Ireland is expanding its Limerick call centre with 175 new roles over the next four years to handle customer service for Three UK business customers.
The project is receiving taxpayer-funded state aid from IDA Ireland.
The Castleroy customer experience centre employs close to 400 people at present.
"This expansion of operations in Limerick demonstrates the strength of Three’s customer service in Ireland and we are very excited to build on the high standard of talent we have," said Robert Finnegan, CEO of Three Ireland and Three UK.
"This also underlines our commitment to Limerick as an employment hub into the long-term. Three Ireland has been investing and growing in Limerick for over 20 years, and today we are reaffirming and increasing that commitment with the creation of these roles”.
Enterprise minister Leo Varadkar said the new jobs were "a testament to the existing staff in Castletroy".
Three Ireland saw operating profit increase from €50.4m to €58.2m in 2020 despite the closure of its retail stores due to Covid-19, as revenue dipped slightly from €603m to €593m.
The company employed just over 1,200 people in Ireland in 2020, and its 5G network has been judged Ireland's fastest.
