Tourism Ireland is hoping for a Belgium invasion after the Wild Atlantic Way was featured in a popular culinary travel show.

A special Ireland episode of a popular Belgian culinary travel show called Sergio Over De Grens (meaning Sergio Across Borders) aired earlier this week.

The show, fronted by Dutch chef Sergio Herman, regularly attracts viewing figures of over 500,000 people. The episode will also air on the streaming service VMT GO, and in the Netherlands at a later date.

Filming took place here last summer and was supported by Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland. The show follows Herman as he travels around Europe, exploring different cuisines.

In the Irish episode, viewers saw traversing the Wild Atlantic Way in search of new and flavours, local ingredients and inspiring experiences.

“Publicity and broadcasts like this are a key element of Tourism Ireland’s programme of activity.

"It’s a wonderful opportunity to highlight our stunning scenery and our fantastic cultural and culinary experiences to more than 500,000 viewers across Belgium alone, inspiring them to come and experience the Wild Atlantic Way for themselves.”
