Treacy’s Pharmacy Is Ireland’s ‘Friendliest’ Business

Treacy’s Pharmacy on James Street in Westport, Co. Mayo, has been selected as ‘Ireland’s Friendliest Business 2019’ in the annual JCI Ireland awards scheme.

The JCI Friendly Business Awards highlight businesses that make and extra effort to meet all the needs of their customers. The awards runner-up was Etherson’s Butchers on Cabra Road in Dublin 7.

JCI Ireland president Keira Keogh commented: “Every day, small and medium business owners work very hard to not only survive but thrive in business. In this fast paced World, businesses nowadays have to think outside the box across a range of areas to satisfy a diverse range of customers.”

The awards ceremony took place at the CastleCourt Hotel in Westport. The keynote speaker Harry Hughes, CEO of Portwest and 2017 EY Entrepreneur of the Year, who gave some tips on how to make any business venture a success.

The competition attracted 370 entries from Dublin, Galway, Fingal, Cork and Mayo, and in addition to the overall winner and runner-up, there were seven other category winners:
- Disability Access: The G Hotel, Galway
- Eco-Friendliness: Country Crest, Fingal
- Digital Experience: JJ Halys Personal Training, Dublin
- Shop Layout & Design: Samyo Asian Food, Galway
- Community Impact: Republic of Fitness, Mayo
- Age Friendly: Donabate Portrane Community & Leisure Centre, Fingal
- Customer Care: Man O'War Pub & Restaurant, Fingal
