Hotel booking site Trivago has relaunched its Hotel Manager platform. The Trivago Hotel Manager allows hoteliers to edit their profile, which Trivago says leads to an average of five times as many clicks from customers.

120,000 hoteliers use the Hotel Manager to build up their profiles, which makes them rank higher than others. Trivago says top-ranked hotels receive 35% of their bookings through Trivago.

“This illustrates the significance of our platform to hotel owners and marketeers and delivers tangible results to hoteliers’ businesses,” said Trivago managing director Johannes Thomas.

Trivago was launched in 2005. Expedia bought a controlling stake in the company for $630 million in 2013. More than 900,000 hotels are listed on the site, aggregated from over 250 booking sites. Trivago claims 80 million visitors per month and 2.5 million search requests per day. Customers can search for hotels based on budget, location and proximity to landmarks. Trivago has many search filters so users can find exactly what they need in a hotel stay.

“We see hoteliers as the most valuable source of our information for their hotels. They know best what they are good at and we want to present those insights to our users. A unique and up-to-date hotel profile results in more clicks from travellers, which positively influences their ranking on trivago as well.” Thomas said.

He added that the revised Hotel Manager platform is easier to use and focuses on hotel information, rates and reputation.

47% of travellers are said to use hotel metasearch sites to compare prices, according to ResearchNow.

Trivago reported 59% growth in users searching for their ideal hotel in 2015. Simultaneously, the number of hoteliers managing their Trivago profiles has more than doubled every year in the last seven years on average.
