With eCommerce continuing to accelerate, in 2019 An Post launched our online postage solution, Click & Post, to support the market in this growth. The product serves both SME and consumer markets providing both groups of customers with huge flexibility and convenience.
What is Click & Post?
The product name bares no ambiguity and is simple to understand, like the service itself. Click & Post is an online tool that offers a quick and easy way for An Post customers to buy postage labels online. It also provides an online shopping returns solution, which is seamless for customers and provides retailers with flexibility in how they want to integrate the service. The service offers choice and convenience to the customer at all times, 24/7, 365 days a year.
What are the features and how does it work?
Sending with Click & Post
In order to provide value to the customer, we ascertained their pain points, and what they disliked about the posting process. Previously, our customers were using a manual shipping process. Postage labels were purchased in the Post Office, and customs forms had to be completed at the counter for International sending. Furthermore, the customer had to visit a Post Office to determine the price of postage for their items.
Now, with Click & Post, An Post customers can calculate the cost of sending a letter, packet or parcel and buy postage labels online. Customs electronic data forms can also be completed when buying postage via Click & Post, saving time when sending Internationally.
A subsequent log-in feature was introduced to Click & Post after launch, allowing customers to save their details for a quick checkout, view transaction history, and create an address book for easy access to regular contacts.
Click & Post enables businesses to send eCommerce orders easily, which is increasingly important as the eCommerce retail market continues to evolve and grow. It is the only tool that allows for ad-hoc sending without the need for a contract – something which is sometimes daunting to a small business.
Returns with Click & Post
Click & Post has two options for retailers to facilitate online shopping returns for their customers. In a matter of minutes, retailers can be hosted on <itals>anpost.com/returns<itals> and have an instant returns solution available for their customers.
Integrated Returns with Click & Post
An Post also provides an API alternative for retailers who want to host their online shopping returns journey on their own website. Using the Click & Post Retailer Returns API they can generate an Express Post label for their customers, with all the convenient features Click & Post offers e.g. Printing in Post Office or Home Collection options.
Sustainable Returns
We have a mandate to ensure that we are operating in a way that is sustainable and kind to the planet. Our returns collection process supports the An Post initiative to keep emissions to a minimum, as Postal Operatives can collect shopping returns while they are already out for delivery. We continue to make efficiencies to other areas of the delivery process too – An Post has the largest electric vehicle fleet in the country and has a continued commitment to sustainability.
