Digital Business Ireland and Guaranteed Irish have announced a new partnership "to share knowledge and insights" between members of their respective organisations.
The two female-led representative bodies said they are keen to emphasise the importance of partnership, in helping their membership to leverage new opportunities, and instigate growth.
Lorraine Higgins, secretary-general, Digital Business Ireland, said: "Digital Business Ireland is delighted to announce our partnership with Guaranteed Irish this International Women’s Day.
"The symbolism of two female business leaders partnering their respective organisations to help to enable and empower businesses in Ireland very much represents our collective ambitions.
"As evidenced by our most recent Digital Insights research, there has been a substantial drop-off in support for Irish businesses in recent months. We must initiate targeted campaigns encouraging consumers to consider shorter supply chains and buy from businesses in Ireland online. Working in collaboration, Digital Business Ireland and Guaranteed Irish can help to drive this momentum."
Guaranteed Irish CEO Brid O’Connell added: "We look forward to collaborating with Digital Business Ireland to encourage start-up businesses as well as to empower women in the post-pandemic workplace. We need to boost female representation at board and C-suite level."
Guaranteed Irish says it currently supports over 2,000 business members, who employ c.100,000 people.
DBI is the leading representative body for the Irish ecommerce sector, with thousands of members across technology, retail, hospitality, professional services, travel, transport, education, leisure, agri-business, and property.
For International Women’s Day, DBI has published a small eBook which features some of the tech sector’s most prominent female leaders. The eBook is available to download on Digital Business Ireland’s website.
