Digital startup SkyTango has won the NDRC’s Lift Off competition, securing €30,000 follow-on investment.
The company, which specialises in film production and drone technology, describes itself as an “aerial marketplace” built by film and television producers, directors, editors and drone operators.
SkyTango caters for drone content creators and aerial content buyers in the audio-visual, TV, film and other industries, providing a marketplace for trade in drone-captured aerial film and photography.
Eleven companies pitched to a panel of investors for the Lift Off competition, all looking to secure next-stage investment. Judges on the day included Ben Hurley (CEO of NDRC); Will Prendergast, Frontline Ventures; John Aiken, Jenson Partners (UK) and David Bowles, Delta Partners.
All the startups, including SkyTango, recently completed the intensive 12-week NDRC LaunchPad programme, with each receiving up to €20,000 in pre-seed investment.
Speaking after yesterday’s announcement, NDRC commercial director Gary Leyden said: “We seek founders and startup teams that can show us that there is something innovative about their approach in addressing a large market problem, combined with significant levels of insight and knowledge into a particular domain. SkyTango have demonstrated this in their entire approach.”
