This year’s National Ploughing Championships will see the return of the Local Enterprise Village, where small businesses from around the country can promote their new products or services.
For the three days of the September event, 84 small businesses will be given the chance to impress some 280,000 attendees at the largest outdoor event in Europe.
The businesses participating in the Local Enterprise Village last year generated sales and orders worth nearly €645,000 to the Irish economy, according to figures from the Local Enterprise Offices, in various sectors from food and drink to agri-business to fashion.
The Local Enterprise Village will see the introduction of a new product launch and demonstration area, where small businesses and start-ups can invite visitors to preview and sample new Irish brands. A new award scheme, the Local Enterprise Village Awards, is also being introduced for the first time, to highlight ‘up-and-coming’ brands and companies.
