Catering and restaurant group Gourmet Food Parlour (GFP) will create 100 jobs over the next 12 months as it opens two new restaurants.
The business was founded by Lorraine Heskin and Lorraine Byrne, who opened their first restaurant in Swords in 2006. GFP currently comprises eight restaurants, employing more than 240 staff.
One of the two new restaurants – based in Skerries – is already open, while the second outlet will launch in Salthill, Galway, in October of this year. The Galway restaurant will be GFP’s first eatery outside of Dublin.
As well as the restaurants, GFP runs a food catering division, with clients such as Google, Dublin GAA and Irish Ferries. According to GFP’s most recent account filings, it booked a profit of €111,000 in 2016 and had net worth of €202,000.
The planned 100 new hires will include chefs, baristas, front-of-house staff and event specialists.
“We are very proud and grateful to be expanding the business and creating new jobs throughout the company,” said managing director Lorraine Heskin (pictured). “The new locations in Skerries and Galway offer an exceptionally exciting time for us, with Galway, our first location outside of Dublin, already creating a lot of excitement locally.”
