The Greenshoots programme at Macroom E Enterprise Centre is seeking applications from aspiring entrepreneurs for its next course, which starts in March.
Since its inception five years ago, Greenshoots has supported 55 startups, enabling them to develop their ideas from conceptual stages through to launching new companies.
During the six-month programme, Greenshoots participants avail of free shared office space, weekly training workshops on areas of business development, individual mentorship, business coaching, links with local and national support agencies, guidance from excellent established entrepreneurs and lots of peer to peer support.
According to programme manager Catherine Costello: “The recruitment for the programme is always an exciting time as we meet the applicants and hear hundreds of ideas. This year we have the support of the North and West Cork Local Enterprise Offices, so we will be able to extend the reach of the programme geographically.”
Of the 55 startups fostered by Greenshoots, 76% are still in operation. Four of those businesses are now employing more than 10 staff members.
An information session takes place on Wednesday February 3 at Macroom E Enterprise Centre. Application details are available on www.greenshootscork.ie, with a deadline of February 12.
