Masterchefs are to be the new catering partner at Punchestown Racing. A four-year contract will see the Limerick-based company cater all equestrian and commercial events at the co. Kildare venue.
Over 15,000 corporate hospitality clients will experience the Masterchefs dining experience at the annual Punchestown Festival. In addition, a further 110,000 racegoers will experience the Masterchefs public catering offerings through the season from October to June.
The award-winning Masterchefs team joins the Punchestown operation fresh from a major win at the Irish catering industry’s esteemed Keelings Farm Fresh Gold Medal awards. The company claimed the Ireland’s Event Caterer category and then, what is ultimately the highest accolade in their industry, the Supreme Caterer Award.
In addition to the battery of chefs who will work on-site at Punchestown, Masterchefs also has an off-site facility. 'The Artisan Food Factory' will provide outlets with items such as fresh artisan breads, quiches and desserts, made daily by professional bakers and pastry chefs. Produce from this operation recently took four Gold Awards and one Silver for a range of its signature dishes at the annual Blas na hEireann, the Irish Food Awards.
Punchestown Manager Dick O’Sullivan said: “It is a great pleasure to welcome the Masterchefs team to Punchestown, where our philosophy has always been to deliver restaurant-standard quality. Dining and hospitality has become an integral part of our business and we must ensure that our catering partners hold the same high standards with regard to service and product. We feel that Pat O’Sullivan and his team have a proven track record in this regard and look forward to showcasing the famous Punchestown and Masterchefs hospitality as our season gets underway.”
The Punchestown season will begin Wednesday, October 14 and Thursday, October 15, culminating in the famous Punchestown Festival from 26-30 April, 2016.
