Companies who have developed AI spelling tools for schools to the creators of high protein low sugar sweets have been listed amongst the 31 finalists of this year’s National Enterprise Awards.
The final of the 25th ever the Local Enterprise Office run awards will take place on May 22nd.
Last year Kildare based company, DreamDev Technologies, who developed an AI augmented platform to help companies to significantly increase their product’s time to market took home the top prize.
Finalists this year, who will be competing for a €50,000 top prize, include TAPiTAG from Westmeath who develop NFC-powered digital solutions, including business cards, marketing tags, and donation platforms and have over 45,000 users in 75 countries.
Another finalist is Spellings for Me from Tipperary who have developed an AI-powered personalised spelling programme, designed for primary schools and home learning.
A number of food businesses have also made it to the final including Naked Bakes from South Dublin, SOS Cookies from Limerick, Fused by Fiona Uyema from Kildare and WONDR Jellies from Mayo, the world’s first high protein, low sugar jellies.
This year’s Outstanding Achievement Award will go to Keoghs Farm, which recognises a businesses which started with the support of their LEO before going on to achieve international success.
In 2011, Tom Keogh created the Keoghs Crisp brand and from what was a 200-year-old potato farm, they export to 22 countries and employ 150 people at their base in north county Dublin.
