Rob Morton and Killian Thomas Lynch have opened The Juice Store in the Royal Hibernian Way shopping arcade on Dawson Street in central Dublin. The Juice Store cold presses the juices from fruit and vegetables, without the use of blades. “This ensures no heat is involved in the extraction, so there is no oxidization and no loss of nutrients,” said Morton.
The shop offers seven juice flavours: Sweet Ginger, Tropical Greens, Power Greens, Cool Greens, Cool Beets, Warm Beets and Power Greens Plus.
The juices were developed by nutritionist Jessica Bourke, author of The Guilt Free Gourmet. “Juicing is the most efficient way of consuming the vital nutrients that vegetables provide as it requires minimal effort for the body to digest, meaning you experience the health benefits straight away,” said Bourke.
According to Morton: “As a business we want to promote sustainable health habits that will have a lasting and very positive effect on our customers. We’d like people to consider replacing just one of their daily lattes with a daily juice, and find out for themselves the impact that this small change has on their health and life.”
The store will also sell vegan and vegetarian salads, hummus and savoury and sweet treats made by the Inner Garden food company, run by Eli Babei and Natalia Luczak.
Juices are available in 250ml and 500ml servings, with prices ranging from €3.50 to €7.50.
