US pizza chain Pizza Hut has opened a new store in Drimnagh, Dublin 12, bringing 25 jobs to the area.
Pizza Hut Drimnagh offers fast-casual dining and delivery service. The unit will operate from 12pm daily, seven days a week.
The pizza chain has 12 other outlets in Dublin, and operates a franchise model for individuals who want to own and run their own pizza model.
Lauren Murray from Pizza Hut Drimnagh commented: “We are over the moon to open the doors of Pizza Hut Drimnagh this month. So much hard work has gone on behind the scenes to get this location up and running and we are so excited to welcome this globally recognised brand to Drimnagh. We cannot wait to see what the local community thinks of the brand new location.”
Pizza Hut is part of Yum! Brands Inc., based in Louisville, Kentucky, which has 54,000 restaurants in 155 countries and territories.
Yum’s other two main brands are KFC and Taco Bell, which are global leaders of the chicken, Mexican-style and pizza food categories.
The company’s family of brands also includes The Habit Burger Grill, a fast-casual restaurant concept specialising in made-to-order chargrilled burgers and sandwiches.
In 2021, the group opened c.4,200 restaurants in over 110 countries, resulting in 3,057 net new units.
Pizza Hut’s intelligent coaching app, HutBot, is deployed in over 6,000 stores worldwide, while Dragontail allows the brand to streamline food preparation and optimise its delivery routes.
Yum! Brands had total revenue of $6,580m in 2021, with franchise and property revenue accounting for 44% of the total.
Operating profit was $2,140m, a margin of 32%, and net profit was €1,580m, for a fast food net margin of 24%.
Year to date the company’s share price has fallen from $136 to $109.
