See-through hard hats look set to become all the rage in head protection. That’s the hope behind Mayo company Portwest’s introduction of its new translucent head protection, the Peak View hard hat.
The Peak View translucent hard hat is a modern design which improves on the traditional hard shell protective helmet. If a wearer has ever felt a bit blinkered wearing the traditional hat, they should like the Peak View, as it allows maximum peripheral vision. Manufactured from an innovative translucent impact polycarbonate material, it enables the wearer to see through the hat from any angle.
Portwest employs over 2,000 staff worldwide with offices in the UK, Poland, Germany, Dubai, China, Bangladesh and US. Turnover in the year to March 2015 was €88 million, and operating profit was €13 million
The company says the Peak View hard hat has substantial health and safety benefits. It offers improved visibility in the workplace due to its translucent, comfort and practical design features. It is available in a wide range of colours, allowing employers or health and safety officers to introduce a colour coding system in dangerous working environments. The product is certified to European Safety Standard EN 397.
Ray Carney (pictured) of Portwest said: "This product will appeal to industries where safety in the workplace and the comfort of its workforce are paramount. Personal protective equipment is the solution to reducing work place accidents and fatalities. Revolutionary products such as Peak View are the next logical step for the market.”
