Teamwork.com has been selected as Cork's best SME in Cork Chamber's annual Company of the Year Awards sponsored by Vodafone

Teamwork.comfounded by Peter Coppinger and Daniel Mackey in 2007, markets TeamworkPM, a project management software solution.

In 2014, the firm undertook a brand relaunch as Teamwork.com, purchasing the domain name for €500,000. Operating company Digital Crew Ltd booked a profit of €1.3 million in 2014, giving the business a net worth of €2m, with cash reserves of nearly €1.9m.

Elsewhere, Tyco’s yo-yo relationship with Cork is on the up after the firm, which sells fire and security products, scooped Cork Chamber’s overall ‘Company of the Year 2016’ award.

Tyco closed its manufacturing division in Bishopstown in 2008, with the loss of 320 jobs. However, the company returned in a big way to the county in 2014, opening a new services centre with the promise of 500 jobs.

The ‘Emerging Cork Company’ award went to Platform Avenue, a software business that enables organisations to promote, engage and manage smart application forms.

Chamber president Barrie O’Connell told the organisation's annual dinner  that the county’s economy was primed to accelerate. “In Spring 2017, Cork will have a revitalised retail, office and food innovation centre bustling with people and added vibrancy to Patrick Street and the Grand Parade area, with the reconstruction underway on the old Capitol cinema site," he said. “Combined with other property developments underway and about to commence in the city, including the events centre, this is real substantive progress”.
