The Smokin’ Butcher has announced supply deals with the Wrights of Howth outlet in Dublin Airport and three Avoca stores.
Led by Hugh Maguire (pictured), The Smokin’ Butcher makes smoked black and white puddings, sausages and dry-cured rashers.
The venture also has supply deals with Supervalu, Sheridan’s Cheese Mongers in Dunnes Stores and Fallon & Byrne, and is forecasting sales growth of over 50% this year.
Maguire’s Smoked Black Pudding was crowned Supreme Champion at the Great Taste Awards 2017. Operating in Navan, products are made using a a slow smoke process using Beechwood chips.
Maguire commented: “I’m particularly proud of our Smoked Black Pudding, which is one of the very few black puddings in Ireland that is 100% natural. These latest retail partnerships reflect our commitment to providing great quality products at affordable prices.”
Maguire’s black puddings that are 100% natural, using fresh pigs’ blood and natural pork casing. There are no artificial additives or preservatives and his signature ingredients are pin head oatmeal, fresh onion, garlic, a selection of seasonings and Himalayan pink salt.
