Irish canned water brand Well. Can'd Water has partnered with Every Can Counts to support efforts to increase recycling across Ireland.

The Dublin-based business, founded by entrepreneurs John O'Sullivan and brothers Mark and Conor Ralph last year, will support the non-profit programme, which aims to encourage people to recycle empty drinks cans.

Every Can Counts is funded by a partnership between UK and European can manufacturers, the aluminium recycling industry and drinks brands, and has the aim of achieving a 100% recycling rate for drinks cans across the continent.

"Wellbeing is central to our company, for both our customers and our planet," Mark Ralph said. “That’s why it was never a question for us to can our water instead of bottling it. Aluminium is infinitely recyclable, meaning we can continue promoting healthy lifestyles, without compromising the environment.”

Tom Giddings, director of Every Can Counts, said: “Well. is a really exciting new company and we’re thrilled to welcome them as a partner.

“The business’ commitment to the environment aligns perfectly with our own philosophies and we can’t wait to see what we can achieve through our partnership, starting with our collaboration at Wellfest, which was a great success.”

Every Can Counts provided recycling cans at Wellfest, the health and fitness festival that took place at the Royal Hospital, Kilmainham last month, as part of the partnership.

The programme, which was established in the UK in 2009, now has a presence in 19 countries across Europe and partners with a range of businesses, organisations and events, providing advice and support to help engage consumers on recycling.

Swords-based Well. sources it water from a natural spring in Pomeroy, Co Tyrone.
