Dell unveils world's thinnest gaming laptop among additions to Alienware

Dell Technologies has unveiled the world's thinnest gaming laptop and the world's first Quantum Dot OLED gaming monitor as the latest additions to its Alienware line.

Dell said the new releases have excellent portability, improved performance and peripherals such as sound quality, customisable features and ergonomics.

The Alienware x14 is Dell's thinnest laptop to date, thanks to its patent-pending hinge design, which allows the makers to fit more features into the slimmed-down frame, incluidng Alienware Cryo-Tech cooling technology for optimal thermal performance, and its largest capacity battery to date, capable of over 11 hours of HD video playback.

It is the first 14" laptop to support NVIDIA's Advanced Optimus and G-SYNC technologies for optimised batter life when gaming as well as type-c charing ports, and it is powered by 12th generation Intel Core H-series processors.

The x14 also features Alienware's exclusive thermal interface material, Element 31, and comes with either Intel Arc Graphics or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 laptop GPU with seven-phase voltage regulation.

Gamers in need of a larger display while seeking the same portability will be interested in the Alienware x15 R2 or Alienware x17 R2 laptops, which boast eye-popping graphics thanks to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series, 12th Gen Intel Core processors, DD5 6,400Mhz speeds for faster memory, AlienDX stadium lighting and other features.

Meanwhile, Dell claims the Alienware m15 R5 is the most powerful 17-inch AMD Advantage gaming laptop in the world, and the first available laptop to feature AMD SmartAccess graphics while delivering a range of state-of-the-art gaming technologies across hardware and software as well as the Cryo-Tech cooling technology for sustained high performance.

Other products due for release include the Alienware 34 Curved QD-OLED gaming monitor, which offers a stunning colour performance and high luminance with crystal-clear visuals, ideal for those who play racing, simulation or action-adventure games, Twitch streamers or content developers.

"In its simplest form, a QD-OLED display combines the impressive picture qualities of OLED with Quantum Dot technology to deliver a vibrant, life-like colour performance including consistent colour uniformity, wide colour coverage, incredible brightness and OLED reliability we stand behind with a 3-year limited hardware warranty that covers OLED burn-in," Dell said.

There's also the Alienware Tri-Mode Wireless Gaming Headset (RRP €167.23, excluding VAT), a recent CES Award winner that retains the Legend 2.0 design while being Dell's most comfortable headset to date with a slimmer silhouette, leatherette covering and soft memory foam earcups.

Embedded with active noise cancelling, immersive multi-dimensional audio, integrated touch controls and versatile device connectivity, this headset is perfect for PC and mobile gaming as well as music and entertainment.

Finally, the Tri-Mode Wireless Gaming Mouse (RRP €109.24) is weight-optimised at 89g, with a new slimmer design, 3D-sculpted ambidextrous thumb grips and iconic AlienFX RGB lighting, and its next-generation, 26,000 DPI optical sensor and magnetic force keyplates ensure the high performance.

All products mentioned will be available in Ireland in the coming months, with pricing details to be announced upon launch.
