Davy has announced a new three-year partnership with the National Concert Hall.

The stockbroker and wealth manager will  become the venue’s ‘Innovation Partner’  and primary sponsor of the NCH’s contemporary music programme, the ‘Perspectives Series’.

Davy CEO Brian McKiernan said: “The National Concert Hall presents innovative music and artists, while giving the creators of tomorrow a world class platform to engage audiences and share their craft. Davy shares in that purpose as we support our clients in their endeavours to achieve world class outcomes, in business and in life.”

Highlights of the Perspective Series this autumn include Philip Glass and his Ensemble, who take up a special residency at NCH in October. Glass will perform his iconic works Music in 12 Parts and KOYAANISQATSI as well as curate with NCH one-off events.

Music in Twelve Parts, composed between 1971–74, is regarded as one of the most original and revolutionary works of Glass’s oeuvre. According to the NCH: “Both a massive theoretical exercise and a deeply engrossing work of art, the score is the culmination of Glass’ explorations and theories on repetition. It is widely considered to be a masterpiece of minimalism and a seminal work of 20th century music."

Music in Twelve Parts runs a total of five hours with two short intermissions and an hour-long dinner break. NCH CEO Simon Taylor commented: “Philip Glass’s unique music has made him a cultural icon, reaching across generations. His visionary works are known for their hypnotic and dramatic structures and shape-shifting motifs. They are landmarks of modern music.”
